Well DeviantArt can now go swing from my fucking nuts now, for all I care.

3 Pieces of work (ones that have been up for quite some time) have now been removed due to (quote/unquote) "copyright violation." The pieces of work in question? A "Rogue" X-Men Wallpaper, and two forum banners I designed for The Matrix Online forums, based around The Matrix and Dragonball Z.

They were removed because of "violating one of the following policies."

1. Deviants are responsible for securing the necessary third-party arrangements which allow the submissions to deviantART that are derivative works based on that artists works. Without that arrangement made prior to submission then the deviation is not legally allowed to be submitted.

2. deviantART does not allow the submission of copywritten material without the securing of the necessary third-part arrangements. This means that if a deviant submits the work of another artist, without first obtaining permission, and displaying that permission on deviantART, then the submission is considered a rip.


So basically then, every piece of fanart on this website is breaking copyright then, eh, DA? I don't see you going through all the wallpapers and deleting those which, (just off the top of my head and browsing the wallpaper section quickly) feature characters from Star Wars. Did they get George Lucas' or 20th Century Fox's permission to use those characters? No. So are you gonna delete those as well?

Btw, DeviantArt, are you aware that everytime someone from the UK downloads an image with a copyright symbol attached to it from *your* site (being clearly american), that they are actually breaking copyright law? What next? Are you gonna stop the local saving of any/all images?

My venting is over, this site has lost whatever little appeal it had remaining to me, and I'm hereby removing *all* my work, (except for one final special piece) Original or not. Those that have my MSN can contact me there. Those that don't and wish to stay in touch, my email is on my profile page, i suggest you use it as I shall no longer be visiting this site, nor shall I be recommending others do.
